Wizard's ATLANTA COMICCON added to 2010 convention schedule!
December 3-4-5 2010, the Wizardworld tour rolls into Georgia for the Atlanta Comiccon, and HBComics will be there.
Aside from being on hand with all of our currently released books, this will also be your last chance to get our Wizard 2010 Tour exclusives! Look for announcements on those exclusives in the near future, and if you are in Atlanta this December come by and say hi to Chris and Alan, and Atlanta native Danny White at the Atlanta Comiccon!

As part of it's ongoing relationship with Wizardworld conventions, HBComics is pleased to unviel the first (of several!) convention exclusives, available only at Wizardworld "Comiccon" conventions this year. So here it is, an 11x17 pin-up from the amazingly talented Fernando "The FERN" Martin!
For fans of Fernando's work, rest assured this is only the beginning of the sensational work Fernando will be doing with us...look for his work as the ongoing artist for our yet un-announced THIRD title!

Shocker Toys sent out their Toy Fair 2010 press release that gives more insight to the recently announced Lazerman action figure...check out this snippet:

Yes, HBComics' own Lazerman will be sharing a two-pack with Mike Allred's one and only MADMAN! This is the "classic" style Madman, as he appeared in the first 3 issues published by Tundra, which to my knowledge has to yet appear in action figure form. We'll have more news as it develops, as we report from Toy Fair 2010 This Sunday!
Shocker Toys produces INDY SPOTLIGHT, a line of fully articulated 6
inch action figures based on independent comic book properties, as
well as Mallows, a line of designer vinyls.
Lazerman be joining Indy Spotlight alongside such indy comic greats
as The MaXX, Shadowhawk, Dick Tracy, the Tick, The Phantom, and a
host of others! In addition to the 6" figure, a Lazerman Mallow is
also in production!
The prototypes for Shocker's first Lazerman products will be on
display at Shocker Toys booth at TOY FAIR 2010, February 14-17 in
the Javits Center in New York City! Me and Alan will be there on the

Now I'm sure this is a huge surprise to many of you. In fact,
Shocker Toy's owner Geoff Beckett has proven to be an extremely
controversial figure in the industry. Before meeting and speaking to
Geoff, I had heard a lot of rumors, a lot of innuendo, and a lot of
stories. Well, me and Alan were never ones to plunge headfirst
without looking.
I can tell you that we did our research. I spoke to numerous other
creators and licensors (some of whom were my idols beforehand!) We
met with Geoff over a year ago, and were in discussions about the
license for more than 6 months before we made our decision. We found
Geoff to be an all around decent guy with a legitimate passion for
making toys, and every expectation he set with us about the process
has been met.
The figures Shocker puts out are, in my personal opinion as an avid
toy collector, the best 6" figures I've seen. The articulation is
incredibly well engineered, and the sculpting is top notch. The Indy
Spotlight line is a perfect blend well known mainstream favorites,
characters with more of a cult following, and "rising stars" you
might not have heard of yet. I couldn't imagine Lazerman being in
better company.
Naturally, we'll be posting pictures of the prototypes after the
show!

Previewing 2010!
Alot of people think it's a bit cliche' to say "This is gunna be MY year!" And I guess it is.
Of course, we're the guys with a comic called Lazerman, so cliche' is isn't really a problem for us, is it?
Fact is, about 6 months ago, I would have told you 2010 was going to be a bit of a "low key" year for us. Considering all the conventions, books, and general craziness of last year...I for one assumed THIS year we'd be laying low and concentrating on books.
Well it's funny how things turn out.
This year is looking to be even more intense for us than last year. Last Blog, we announced the first three convention dates of the new year...starting with January 10th's "Northeast Comiccon" right here in Boston...(more)

So then, what IS Vindication: Prelude?
In July, VINDICATION will be joining Lazerman as our second, on-going title.
It's a team book...four supers who awaken to find themselves taken captive must
overcome their differences and fight as one if they are to survive long enough
to discover who, or what, is hunting them...The book will also deal with how
people react to a changing world where super powered beings are now a part of
everyday life.
With July right around the corner, we decided to ramp up to the release of issue
1 with VINDICATION: PRELUDE...four short comics (4 pages each) that will be
available RIGHT HERE at www.hbcomics.com! These comics are FREE, and each one will focus on a
different character from the VINDICATION team, and each is drawn by a different
artist.
The first episode of Prelude is PITCHSHIFT: Nice and Quiet. It
will premier at RIGHT HERE on May 15th, and is drawn and written by myself
(note: Normally, I refuse to draw and write the same story, so this is VERY
rare!) and is inked by Sarah Arnold.
So Join us on the 15th for the first installment of PRELUDE as we countdown to
Vindication #1!

I announced some time ago that I was going to be doing the front cover for the third Haven/enemi Distribution catalog. Well a bit has changed since then...In short, The catalog (now called COMICS!) has been re-designed, and the one and only NEAL ADAMS has done the new cover for the re-launch.
The folks at COMICS! did decide to use my art for the BACK cover...and here
